New ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Centers announced

ISN and The Transplantation Society (TTS) are delighted to announce the results of the latest call for applications of ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Center Program.

Four established renal centers will be working with another four renal centers in emerging countries to develop, support and enhance kidney transplantation in those centers.

We would like to congratulate these centers joining this program:

– Hospital Manuel De jesus Rivera (Nicaragua) and Instituto De Nefrologia – Nephrology s.a. (Argentina): liaison officers Claudia Sanchez and Florencia Casadei.
– Hopital Calmette Phnom-Penh (Cambodia) and CHU Saint Etienne (France): liaison officer Eric Alamartine.
– Gading Pluit Hospital (Indonesia) and Univ. Hospital UKE (Germany)
– Hopital General Yaounde (Cameroon) and Charles Nicolle Hospital (Tunisia): liason officer Egi Manuputty

After the success of the ISN Global Outreach Sister Renal Center Program, this initiative is a collaboration between ISN and TTS to build on that strategy and encourage transplant centers to work together to increase opportunities for kidney transplant patients in developing countries. An experienced transplant center in the developed world lends its support to an emerging transplant center to facilitate vital multidisciplinary training and encourage both centers to exchange their knowledge and expertise.

This program represents another way in which ISN and TTS have partnered to achieve more than each society can achieve alone. The ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Center Program will grow as we add new centers in the coming years. The next application deadline is September 15, 2014.
