ISNSCCON stressing the importance of innovation for accessible care

I would like to share some pictures taken in Pondicherry when I attended the 37th Annual Conference of the Southern Chapter of the Indian Society of Nephrology, endorsed and sponsored by ISN.

This event was hosted by the ‘Pondicherry Kidney Club’ in the auditorium of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research.

Taking place in Southern India, just two hours south of Chennai, participants mostly came from the region, including students, registrars and nephrologists as well as industry representatives. From the side of Kidney International, Jai Radhakrishnan joined us during the event, which was officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy.

Preceding the opening ceremony, I talked about integrated approaches to global kidney health, stating the importance of innovation in India to help provide accessible and sustainable health care.

Following the event, I visited a local hospital and met with various individuals from non-profit organizations as well as participants from the ISN Programs.
