Leadership Elections

Thank you for visiting the 2023 ISN Leadership Elections page. The elections are now closed. Results will be announced at the General Assembly meeting during WCN’23.

ISN Leadership elections will take place from January 23 to February 17, 2023.

During this time, ISN voting members can vote to elect the next ISN:

  • President-elect, and
  • Regional board deputy chair/council member in their ISN region

Prepare to vote for the best candidates to lead the ISN:

The election results will be announced at the ISN general assembly meeting during the World Congress of Nephrology 2023 (WCN’23) in Bangkok, Thailand.

There, the ISN president, regional board chairs and deputy chairs will start their term as the voting members of the 2023-25 ISN council – the governing body and legal trustee of the ISN, until WCN’25. Learn more about ISN leadership groups here.

Thank you for considering each candidate on merit and for the vision and values they embody, and for exercising your right to vote.

** ISN voting members can vote only for their ISN region’s Regional Board Deputy Chair/Councillor

ISN leadership is made up of several core groups. See below for a brief explanation of these groups, as described in the ISN bylaws.

Executive committee

The ISN executive committee works alongside the ISN council to define and lead the organization’s vision, mission, and values, focusing on long-term strategies to ensure successful and sustainable outcomes.

Our current executive committee consists of ten members, including the ISN executive director who sits on the committee as an ex officio member.

Meet the current members of the executive committee (2021-23) here.

Council

The ISN council is composed of regional board chairs and deputy chairs from each of the ten ISN regions. It works alongside the ISN executive committee to determine effective policies, strategies, and governance to carry out ISN’s mission.

Our current council consists of 21 members – the president, chair and deputy chair of each of the ISN regional boards (ten regional boards in total).

Regional Boards

The ISN established ten regional boards to monitor and report on ISN activities across the globe and build relationships with affiliated societies. The regional boards representing the ten ISN regions are:

ISN members are allocated to an ISN region according to their country of residence.
