Profile Description and Training plan:

It is a great honour and pleasure to me to have the opportunity to tell you in few words « why we need this training and what I expect » from it. I’m a 31 years old MD, resident in 3rd year of the nephrology residency program. In Cameroon we started 4years ago and so far we still overload by the huge need, because henceforth, cases are being diagnosed and handled. Since the government is willing to make nephrology care available we have clinical nephrology and hemodylisis but still need to complete other aspects such as Peritoneal dialysis, renal pathology and transplantations in order to build an efficient, complete team.

My specific aims are as follows :

  • To set up and manage a peritoneal dialysis unit.
  • To reinforce my knowledge of hemodialysis techniques.
  • To follow up transplanted patients.
  • To prevent and manage acute kidney injury
  • To perform save kidney biopsy and provide with the local pathologists, appropriate interpretation of specimens, suggesting, further investigations for a better understanding, a specific and complete management of renal diseases.
