\nFrom patients to experimental models \u2013 at the cellular and molecular level \u2013 and back to patients, the Institute conducts research to improve people’s health and wellbeing. Researchers investigate the functional mechanisms of living organisms, the underlying causes of diseases, and the processes that take place in organisms in the presence of foreign substances. The Institute also evaluates the effectiveness of treatments and preventive measures, as well as of scientific public information campaigns.
