ISN is proud to announce that the next World Congress of Nephrology (WCN 2015) will take place in Cape Town, South Africa from March 13-17, 2015 (www.wcn2015.org).

WCN 2015 is a global ISN event hosted by the South African Renal Society (SARS) in partnership with the African Association of Nephrology (AFRAN) and the Renal Care Society of South Africa (RCSSA), and is supported by the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA).

WCN 2015 continues under the theme of “Sustainability and Diversity” which is increasingly relevant to all countries around the world. The commitment of ISN to the global advancement of nephrology is recognized in the scientific program, which will include topics addressing practical, social and economic challenges across diverse nations. The Congress will address issues of sustainable capacity building and healthcare planning in very diverse settings and will provide not only the most recent innovations but also state-of-the-art knowledge that is relevant and adapted to renal care practice throughout the world where delegates will benefit from practical, practice changing and concrete takeaways.

WCN 2015 will bring together some 5,000 practicing physicians, academics, scientists, international health authorities, clinical researchers, as well as other healthcare professionals involved in multidisciplinary nephrology offering a unique global forum for a free exchange of science and medical strategies aligned with local and regional reflections under the overall congress theme. Key scientific themes will include: Communicable (HIV, etc.), Non-Communicable (Hypertension, Diabetes, etc.) and other Renal Risk Factors; Acute Kidney Injury (AKI); Translational and Clinical Nephrology; CKD and its consequences; and Dialysis, Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine.

The World Congress of Nephrology aims to advance the education of physicians and other professionals, support the development of renal research, and facilitate the delivery of high-quality healthcare worldwide.
