SC Liaison Officer: Dr. Nithya S. Krishnan

Name of STC-TTC Pair: India - UK

Short Description of the project or abstract:

As the EC is starting from scratch with regards to transplantation, first of all we would concentrate on providing knowledge and skills to be able to start the program. This will include visits between both the centres. Other than providing teaching materials the SC will offer a visiting fellowship to doctors and trainees.

The SC would send some members to EC to specifically train the transplant team to enable an establishment of a fully functional transplant unit at the EC.

The EC has research interests and have already published in peer reviewed journals. The SC will support and guide the EC in developing interests in transplant related research and hence would enormously help raising the research profile in both the units.

The SC would continue to provide educational and advisory support to EC through regular visits, web casts and telephone consultations, until the EC is able to function as an independent stand-alone unit

Learning Objectives:

  1. Provide knowledge and skills to EC
  2. Training the transplant team
