tab_id=&#8221;abstract-submission-instructions&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong><u>Abstract requirements:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Character count: You may use up to 3,400 characters.<\/strong>\u00a0Spaces are included in the character count (tables and graphs do not count as characters if inserted as an image). Abstract authors\/co-authors\u2019 names and affiliations, and keywords do not count towards the 3,400-character allowance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Abstracts are structured as: Introduction, methods, results, conclusion<\/strong>. Tables, graphs, and pictures may be included (tables and graphs do not count as characters if inserted as an image).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Images must be in JPEG or PNG format<\/strong> (uploaded images cannot exceed 640w x 480h pixels and 1.5 Megabytes).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Case reports that present novel hypotheses, pathologies, treatments, or ethical issues are welcome<\/strong>. However, they are only likely to be selected if the originality is highlighted effectively.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Encore abstracts:<\/strong> It is permissible to present encore abstracts if both the first and subsequent conferences allow this. However, abstract authors must declare this at the end of the abstract in the following way: This abstract was also submitted for the (insert meeting title) congress. By submitting the abstract to WCN\u201924, abstract authors declare that re-submitting the abstract is permitted by the organizers of the previous meeting.<br \/>\n<!--EndFragment --><\/li>\n<li><strong>The maximum number of abstract co-authors that can be listed in an abstract is 15.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Please check carefully for typographical errors, misspelled words, misused hyphens, etc.<\/strong> Please also check that your abstract title is correct.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Abstracts must be submitted in English.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<strong><u>Submission conditions:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Accepted abstracts will be published online<\/strong> in <em>Kidney International Reports<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/em>. No printed abstract book will be produced.<\/li>\n<li>Presenting authors must register for the congress by <u>January 11, 2024,<\/u> to have their abstract published as described above and to have a poster presentation at the congress. If you have submitted an abstract for the congress, the same congress profile must be used to register for the event.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A non-refundable handling fee of 40 USD is charged per abstract that is submitted<\/strong>. The handling fee must be paid by credit card (American Express, MasterCard, or Visa) at the time of submitting the abstract. Payment by bank transfer is not possible. Abstract handling fees are waived only for submitters from low-income countries as defined by the ISN Low Income list. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theisn.org\/join-the-isn\/become-a-member\/member-categories\/#worldbankclassification\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>\u00a0to view the list. The handling fee for late-breaking clinical trials abstracts is 100 USD and is\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong> waived for submitters from low-income countries.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If the presenting author is unable to present the abstract, a co-author can take their place, as long as they are registered for the congress.\u00a0<\/strong>The presenting author must inform the congress secretariat of the change at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:abstractswcn@theisn.org\">abstractswcn@theisn.org<\/a>, no later than <u>January 11, 2024<\/u>. If selected abstract presenters fail to register by <u>January 11, 2024<\/u>, no abstract will be published, and there will be no poster presentation at the congress.<\/li>\n<li>Once submitted, abstracts\u00a0<strong>cannot be changed or withdrawn<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>All copyrights<\/strong>\u00a0are assigned to ISN.<\/li>\n<li><strong>All submitted abstracts will be considered for a poster presentation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ISN Young Nephrologists Awards<\/strong>: The ISN is offering presenting authors under the age of 40 the opportunity to apply for two (2) Young Nephrologists Awards. These awards will cover travel and accommodation contribution to attend the congress. Each winner will have 8 minutes\u2019 oral abstract presentation during a session at the congress. Application for the award is possible only during the online abstract submission process.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Organ trafficking and tourism ethics compliance<\/strong>: scientific studies and clinical activities must be performed in keeping with the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Istanbul on Organ Trafficking and Transplant Tourism. By submitting an abstract for WCN\u201924, you state that you have not violated any aspect of the Declaration or associated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theisn.org\/wcn23\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2022\/05\/Organ-trafficking-and-tourism-ethics-compliance.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">consensus statements<\/a>\u00a0on live donation and research on human subjects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Post-submission:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After your abstract has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email within two business days. If the email doesn\u2019t appear, please check your spam folder.<\/p>\n<p>If you submitted your abstract on the last day of submission (October 31, 2023) and do not receive confirmation within 48 hours, please email: <a href=\"mailto:abstractswcn@theisn.org;\">abstractswcn@theisn.org<\/a>\u00a0to make sure your abstract has been received.<\/p>\n<p>Abstract authors will be notified of acceptance December 14, 2023.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Late-Breaking Abstracts&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;late-breaking-abstracts&#8221;][vc_column_text]Late-breaking abstracts cover ground-breaking data that would not otherwise have been presented at WCN\u201924. If such data are available after the regular abstract deadline, the Scientific Program Working Group will still consider it for presentation.<\/p>\n<p>Late-breaking abstracts describe the latest advances, trial data, and results that have not been previously published or presented and highlight novel and practice-changing studies.<\/p>\n<p>The call for late-breaking abstracts is NOT an extension of the general submission deadline.
