Visa Information

Visitors entering India must possess a passport valid for at least 6 months after their date of entry into India. There should be at least two blank pages in the passport.

When to Apply

For most countries, the time taken by embassies to issue a Conference Visa is normally 10 days, and the visa is valid for three months from the date of issue by the embassy (not from the date of entry into India). For applications from citizens of Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan, Foreigners of Pakistani Origin and Stateless persons, the time taken is 60 days and the visa is valid for one month.

Clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs

We are in process of obtaining clearance from Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India for ISN 2022. This clearance is helpful / required for obtaining visa to travel to India.

All foreign nationals intending to participate in the ISN Frontiers Meeting, except those of Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives are required to obtain an Indian VISA. There is a provision for ‘VISA on Arrival’ in India for some countries also. No fee is charged for immigration facilities at the airports. VISA can be applied for in person or by post at the High commission/Embassy based in the country from where the participant intends to depart for India.

VISA application form is available at the office of the Indian Embassy in the capital and other major cities of the country of your residence. All NRIs/PIOs, including children (who don’t possess OCI or PIO card) need to apply for VISA in separate VISA forms. All the participants are advised to apply for either Tourist VISA or ‘Conference VISA only. The required documents are as mentioned below:

Tourist Visa

  1. Passport valid for a minimum of 190 days with at least two blank pages
  2. Correct visa fee
  3. Two recent identical passport-size photographs
  4. Filled application form (all columns in the form are mandatory and must be filled)

Conference Visa

  1. Duly completed and signed application form
  2. Original passport valid for at least 6 months
  3. VISA fee
  4. Two passport size photographs
  5. Supporting documents such as invitation letter sent by organizing body, letters of clearance from The Nodal Ministry, The Ministry of Home Affairs, The Ministry of External affairs, and letter from the organization in the participant’s country which nominated the applicant to attend the conference, proof of residential address and, copy of birth certificate

The VISA application, along with the enclosures mentioned above, must be submitted directly to the Embassy/High commission of country/locality.

The ISN (organizing committee) is working on the required supporting documents as mentioned above and will upload the letter of approvals from the respective ministry at the earliest (These letters will be soon uploaded on the conference website in a downloadable format). We need to obtain prior and specific approval for attendees who are from Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, foreigners of Pakistani origin and Stateless persons. For applicants from all countries, the details should be of the passport which you will use to travel to India. If you supply the details of one passport to the Congress and apply to the Embassy with another passport, the Embassy will reject your visa application.
