WCN’22 – virtual program

The 2022 World Congress of Nephrology is hosted in a virtual format. All registered delegates will have access to the virtual pre-congress sessions and courses (February 21-24), congress plenaries, scientific sessions, networking events and a lot more (February 25-27). Full access remains available on-demand for three months after the congress. A personalized letter with information to access the WCN’22 virtual platform will be sent to you in the week prior to the start date of the congress. Further details on the virtual format are available below.

Registered participants will have access to the WCN’22 platform and all on-demand content until May 31st, 2022. After this date the content will be accessible via the ISN Academy.

Accreditation

The ISN World Congress of Nephrology, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 24/02/2022-27/02/2022 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 18 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/education/earn-credit-participation-international-activities.

Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

A certificate of attendance can be downloaded from your personal WCN Registration portal after the congress.


The World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) 2022 has been accredited for CPD points under the Malaysian Medical Council CPD Grading System:

  • Virtual Congress: 20 points
  • Physical Congress: 20 points
  • Pre-Congress Workshop: TBA

Delegates (including industry delegates) may be able to view who is visiting the industry showcase in real-time. They will only be able to view the information each participant makes public in their profile.

Participants may opt-in to allow ISN to share their details with companies of booths they visit in the Industry Showcase or with companies organizing an industry symposia they have viewed. These will include First Name, Surname, Email Address, Affiliation and Gender. Industry may use these details to contact the delegate. Industry will not be allowed to use the details in your public congress profile to contact you outside of WCN without your approval.

All pictures and/or video recordings taken by the organizers or its formally appointed representatives (photographer, videographer) during WCN’22, may be used by ISN, MSN or APSN in communications. No individual portrait picture will be taken without the participant’s consent. Participants posing for pictures agree to give ISN the right to use the images taken. If you would like to withdraw consent to publish your images, please email registrationwcn@theisn.org.

Language and Translation

The official language of the Congress is English and presentations will be delivered in English.

Pre-recorded presentations will have English subtitles.

To make the best possible recording of your presentation, please watch our suggested tips and tricks in this short video.

WCN Speakers and poster presenters may request that no audio or visual recording (even with no publication purpose) are taken of their presentations or posters, particularly in the case of unpublished data. Such presentations (or slides) and posters will clearly labelled with “NO COPY/ NO POST”

What do I need to access the platform?

There is no need to download or install any software to access the WCN congress platform. All you need is a good internet connection and your computer/laptop. Tip: If you experience problems accessing the platform, refresh your browser cache by clicking CTRL+F5.

In order to have access to WCN’22 virtual platform please make sure your internet browser is updated to its latest version.

Please note that certain functions of WCN’22 virtual platform will not run on Internet Explorer.

The recorded presentations will be shown through the Vimeo platform. Regions or countries with restrictions to access Vimeo may watch the recordings though VPN (Virtual Private Network). Information on such VPN and how to download can be found here.

To deliver high-quality experience, WCN organizers will provide a safe and welcoming environment where participants can share information and ideas in a professional, positive and friendly way.

WCN organizers will not accept any intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning speech or actions. This includes but is not limited to offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, deliberate intimidation and stalking.

All attendees, including speakers, sponsors, vendors, partners and staff are expected to adhere to the following code of conduct on the WCN’22 congress platforms and conference-related social media:

  • Be considerate, respectful, collaborative and inclusive,
  • Participate in an authentic and active manner (please remember to update your profile),
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, prejudicial, or harassing behavior and speech,
  • Do not use inappropriate language and images,
  • Do not engage in harm or threats of any kind,
  • Do not inappropriately disrupt presentations, talks and the virtual congress in general,
  • Do not make audio or visual recordings of slides, Q&A, oral or poster presentations, forums/chats without presenter/author’s permission.

Attendees can report inappropriate behavior to the congress organizers at registrationswcn@theisn.org In case of inappropriate behavior, WCN organizers reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary including removal from the virtual congress without warning or refund, and they reserve the right to refuse attendance at future ISN meeting, virtually or in person.

Scam warning – unauthorized third-party providers

  • Only register for WCN via our secure registration portal.
  • The ISN has been made aware that several unofficial organizations offer registration and other services related to WCN. Please note that only the ISN or its official representatives  are authorized to provide these services. You are strongly advised not to transmit confidential or payment details to sites that advertise without using the official congress name (the World Nephrology Congress or World Congress on Nephrology or similar). ISN is not associated with these congresses. Please contact registrationswcn@theisn.org if you have any doubts or concerns.
