Kazunori Kataoka

Kazunori Kataoka is center director of the Innovation Center of NanoMedicine (iCONM), Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion, and professor emeritus of the University of Tokyo.
Over a career spanning more than four decades, Professor Kataoka has made pioneering contributions to biomaterials, targeted drug delivery, non-viral gene delivery, and nanomedicine. He has authored more than 600 peer-reviewed papers and has been recognized as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher for nine consecutive years since 2016.
His many international honors include the Humboldt Research Award, Leo Esaki Prize, Biomaterials Global Impact Award, and recognition as a Clarivate Citation Laureate in Chemistry. He is also an international member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and the French National Academy of Medicine.
