ISN Fellowship Abstract Awards recognize the three top-scored WCN’26 abstracts submitted by recent ISN Fellows.
Dr. Tran is a faculty member at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) in Can Tho, Vietnam. He trained in internal medicine and intensive care at CTUMP and earned a Ph.D. in clinical sciences from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, with a multi-omics–based biomarker study of severe leptospirosis. He completed the ISN AKI Ravi Mehta Clinical Fellowship (2024–2025) at the Excellence Center of Critical Care Nephrology, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Tran’s research focuses on acute kidney injury (AKI), spanning biomarker discovery, machine-learning prediction of AKI in resource-limited settings, and global AKI epidemiology. He has presented at the San Diego AKI & CRRT and Korean Society of Nephrology conferences and has received multiple distinctions, including presentation awards and competitive travel grants. He is honored to receive the ISN Fellowship Abstract Award at WCN’26, recognizing research aimed at advancing equitable, data-driven AKI care in low- and middle-income countries.
