2025 KI Best Reviewer
Kidney International®(KI) reviewers were evaluated by number of reviews completed, quality of each review as assessed by the KI Associate Editors, and length of time manuscripts were under review.
Professor Gérard Lambeau is the director of research at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and team leader at the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology (IPMC), in Valbonne Sophia Antipolis, France. His team focuses on secreted phospholipases A2 (sPLA2s) and their receptor PLA2R1, from molecular structures to biological functions and implications in various disease conditions. Most sPLA2s and PLA2R1 were discovered and cloned in his laboratory. For the past 15 years, the team has had a central interest in the role of PLA2R1 and THSD7A as two important autoantigens in membranous nephropathy. They currently characterize the autoimmune response, the pathogenic role of autoantibodies, and the biological role of PLA2R1 and THSD7A in the kidney and beyond.
Professor Lambeau has received several awards for his basic research and translational work on sPLA2s and PLA2R1.
The ISN-KI Early Career Researchers will be acknowledged in The ISN-KI Editorial Fellows Session: The Best of 2025 KI Articles, taking place on Monday, March 30, from 9:25-10:55 a.m. Japan Time in room 315.
