Several awards and prizes that recognize exceptional contributions to nephrology are acknowledged during the World Congress of Nephrology.
WCN’24 will feature the following ISN Awards:
- Lillian Jean Kaplan International Prize for Advancement in the Understanding of Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) recognizes an individual exhibiting excellence and leadership in PKD clinical or basic research and whose seminal scientific work constitutes tangible achievement toward improving knowledge and treatment of PKD
- Jean Hamburger Award recognizes outstanding research in nephrology with a clinical emphasis.
- Bywaters Award recognizes outstanding contributions made to the understanding of Acute Kidney Injury.
The following Argentine Society of Nephrology (SAN) awards will be presented:
- Alfredo Lanari Award for Basic Research
- Victor Miatello Award for Clinical Research
- Cesar Agost Carreño Award for the best oral communication in clinical nephrology
- Alicia Noemi Contino Prize, given to a nephrologist who is outstanding for her/his human value, scientific and social task, for the benefit of the development of nephrology in the field of her/his region.
The following Latin American Society of Nephrology and Hypertension (SLANH) awards will be presented:
- SLANH Honorary Member
- Latin American Spirit Award
