ISN Clinical Research Program (CRP) Abstract Awards recognize the three top-scored WCN’26 abstracts submitted by recent CRP participants.

Dr. Ogochukwu Chinedum Okoye is a professor of medicine and lead nephrologist at Delta State University and its Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH) in Oghara, Nigeria. She is an expert in kidney disease epidemiology, and her research focuses on the impact of environmental exposures on kidney health, particularly the emerging global threat of air pollution-associated chronic kidney disease (CKD) and health disparities in vulnerable communities. She is one of the site principal investigators in the H3Africa Kidney Disease Network.

Dr. Okoye is a recipient of an ISN Clinical Research Program grant and was honored with the 2025 Alumni Excellence Award by Edinburgh Napier University for her significant contributions to global health. She has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and serves as an associate editor of the Tropical Journal of Nephrology, the official publication of the Nigerian Association of Nephrology. Beyond her research, she is a dedicated academic mentor and the founder of the St Linus Renal Care Initiative, a non-profit focused on improving the lives of CKD patients in Nigeria.
