Kidney International (KI) is the official journal of the ISN, one of the most cited journals in nephrology and widely regarded as the world’s premier journal on the development and consequences of kidney disease. Patricia Morrissey is retiring from her role as executive editor of KI in 2026.
Patricia Morrissey has worked at KI since 1997 and has more than four decades of editorial and administrative experience in academic medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Fontbonne College, St. Louis. Outside of work, she can be found traveling to spend time with her children and grandchildren and cheering on her beloved St. Louis Cardinals baseball and St. Louis Blues hockey teams. Thanks to the support of the ISN, she has been able to collaborate with the many editors of KI while remaining at her home base of Washington University, St. Louis.
Patricia Morrissey will be recognized for her outstanding and dedicated service to KI and ISN during WCN’26.
