My fellowship at CHU-Grenoble was a wonderful experience.
Since I returned to Haiti, I have been working with a team for the implementation of a nephrology unit at the University Hospital of Mirebalais.
In this unit we have a nephrology clinic for outpatients, we provide care in all departments to hospitalized patients with renal pathologies, we do kidney biopsies, we train internal medicine residents and nurses, we do acute dialysis with Nxstage machines, we do research projects.
This training increased my passion for nephrology. Now I am a young dynamic nephrologist with big dreams for my country.
The future for me is to have a nephrology department in Haiti, to have more nephrologists. We could provide more specialized care and have a nephrology fellowship program.
We have ambitious projects like to implement the first peritoneal dialysis program and be able to do kidney transplant in future.
