ISN Webinar: Prioritization of Dialysis Patients in National COVID-19 Vaccination Programs – Lessons Learned from Successful Campaigns

dialysis prioritization COVID-19 vaccination webinar

Over 3 million patients worldwide with advanced chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis face not only a greater risk of infections from SARS-CoV-2 due to their impossibility to self-isolate in order to receive regular in-center care, and having a disproportionately higher level of suffering from adverse outcomes once infected, but also a greater risk of death if infected.

Prioritization of dialysis patients in National COVID-19 Vaccination Plans is key to ensure the survival of these patients.

This expert panel discussion will focus on the campaigns that have led to the prioritization of vaccination for dialysis patients in Italy, United Kingdom, Romania, Lebanon, and Uruguay. The audience will have the chance to interact with and learn from the nephrologists who have successfully advocated for and secured the prioritization of dialysis patients in their countries.

Learning objectives:

1. Delineate the steps that have led to the successful prioritization of COVID-19 vaccination for dialysis patients in Italy, UK, Romania, Lebanon, and Uruguay
2. Discuss lessons learned
3. Learn how to reproduce a similar campaign in other countries
