ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Centers (STC)
The program is a joint partnership between the ISN and The Transplantation Society (TTS) to help establish new kidney transplant programs and develop existing ones in low-resource areas.
This initiative fosters partnerships between experienced transplant centers in the developed regions (Supporting Centers or SCs) and new and developing transplant centers (Emerging Centers or ECs) in low-resource areas. It comprises three levels of support providing a structured framework for collaboration and funding for up to six years.
The Emerging Centers must come from Low-Income Countries (LICs), Lower-Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) and Upper-Middle-Income Countries (UMICs) according to the World Bank classification. Each center in the partnership must have at least one ISN or TTS full member.
After six years of progress and achievements in the program, graduated centers are encouraged to support a third center within their region, sustain the impact of their training and help this new center to develop.
