The ISN welcomes expressions of interest and nominations for
leadership positions within ISN Research

Open to all ISN members in good standing

Deadline to apply is 30 September 2022

The ISN has multiple research-related activities many of which are embedded within various programs, initiatives and events. Each of these activities has links to Regional Boards, committees, initiatives and other programs within ISN and externally. All research-related activities are overseen by the ISN Research Working Group.

The ISN welcomes expressions of interest and nominations for the positions of:

  1. ISN Research Working Group (RWG) Committee Deputy Chair, and
  2. ISN iNET-CKD (International Network of Chronic Kidney Disease cohort studies) Committee Deputy Chair

The primary role of the deputy chairs will be to support the chairs to implement the ISN strategic framework priorities and, together with the assigned ISN Headquarters staff, advise and support decision-making processes, such as selecting the most appropriate projects and/or candidates among applications received.

These are volunteer leadership positions for a period of approximately 2 years, commencing at WCN 2023. Deputy chairs are expected to take the role of chair after approximately 2 years (commencing at WCN 2025). The positions do not provide remuneration.

This call for expressions of interest and nominations is open to all ISN members in good standing.

You can apply for the following positions:

  • ISN Research Deputy Chair: Based on ISN strategic priorities, mission and vision, the ISN Research Working Group develops the strategic plan for ISN Research, ensures appropriate links are made to other ISN activities and advises on strategic partnerships. The applicant must have clinical and basic science expertise, including laboratory science.
  • iNET-CKD (cohort studies) Deputy Chair: To increase the understanding of chronic kidney disease, the ISN International Network of Chronic Kidney Disease cohort studies sets out to build up the number of existing, independently-funded chronic kidney disease cohort studies. The applicant must be a current coordinator (or investigator) of a cohort that meets the iNET-CKD Membership Eligibility criteria. Previous experience and knowledge of ISN iNET-CKD’s work will be an advantage.

If you would like to apply to a regular ISN supporting group member position to get acquainted with our work, we welcome your application as well.
