Whether you’re presenting at a meeting, posting on social media, mentoring trainees, or simply talking with colleagues, your experiences can inspire others to connect, learn, and get involved with the ISN.
This toolkit gives you simple, ready-to-use content to help you spread the word and share your story. Use what’s here, adapt it, make it your own. The more authentic your voice, the more it resonates, and the more our global kidney care community grows.

- On social media, posting regularly helps with visibility. Plan to post at least 1-2 times per month.
- Make sure you add hyperlinks to relevant content, e.g. ISN’s membership page, webinars, etc.
- Engage with other people’s content by liking, commenting and reposting.
- Make your personality shine and add local relevance, you can translate and tag your national society too.
There’s so much value in sharing your experience. Here are a few things you can do to spread the word and excite others about making a difference with the ISN. Feel free to adapt these to your style, personality and tone of voice!
Many people wonder: “Why join a society?” or “What’s the real benefit?” Your story can show the real impact.
Talk about:
- How long you’ve been a member and why you joined
- What working group, committee, or regional board you’re part of
- Memorable moments at WCN or ISN meetings
- Colleagues you’ve met who became collaborators or friends
- Courses or webinars you’ve helped deliver and what you learned
How does ISN help you in your professional life and what tangible/practical value have you gotten out of being a member? Sharing about your day-to-day experience will allow others to see how they can also benefit by being a member of the ISN.
Talk about:
- Which ISN toolkit or resource do you use the most
- Do you attend ISN webinars or follow the ISN Academy courses
- What’s a key takeaway you recently learned from ISN content
- Do you read KI or KIR? What’s your favourite section or article
ISN membership runs from January to December. Every year between October to February, the ISN runs a membership campaign to invite kidney care professionals to join or renew their membership.
You can help grow our global kidney care community during this period by sharing highlights that matter to the people you are connected with. For example:
- If you have a big community of researchers, highlight the access to research initiatives and tools that can support their work.
- Do you work with trainees or students? Let them know their first year of ISN membership is free and only $15/year after that.
Keep your content personal and creative! Here are some easy formats to try:
- Take a short selfie video (between 15-60 seconds). Check out this example from Reiko Inagi promoting WCN.
- Write a LinkedIn post or Twitter/X thread
- Create a carousel
- Post a photo quote
- Share a list/ranking (e.g. “My top 3 ISN resources for researchers”)
- Have a storytelling thread and share an inspiring story
- Do an event countdown (e.g. Share upcoming ISN webinars or WCN highlights)
Visuals make your message stand out and feel authentic.
We have some templates that you can use, but using your own photos/videos is best! Whether it’s a picture from an event you were attending, a webinar screenshot, or behind-the-scenes as you connect with others, your images show authenticity and warmth.
These editable PowerPoint templates feature branded social media post layouts. You can translate the text to your local language.

Hi [Name],
I thought of you when ISN opened membership again. It’s been such a good way for me to stay connected with colleagues, learn from others, and be part of the global kidney community.
[Add a short personal line: e.g., “You’d get a lot out of the webinars and the network… there’s always something new happening.”]

If you’re curious, I’m happy to share what I’ve found most useful.
Best,
[Your name]
