Deadline to apply extended to Friday, 30 October 2020

The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) has multiple research activities embedded within various programs, initiatives and events. Each of these activities has links to Regional Boards, committees, initiatives and other programs within ISN and externally. All research activities are overseen by the ISN Research Working Group.

The ISN welcomes expressions of interest and nominations for the position of:

  • ISN Research Working Group Deputy Chair
  • ISN-ACT (Clinical Trials) Deputy Chair, and
  • iNET-CKD (Cohort studies) Deputy Chair

The role of the Deputy Chairs will be to support the chairs to implement the ISN strategic framework as defined by ISN Governance and together with the assigned ISN Headquarters staff advise and support decision making processes to select the most appropriate projects and candidates among applications received. A committee with balanced and diverse representation will support the Chairs and Deputy Chairs.

These are volunteer leadership positions for a period of 2 years, commencing at WCN in April 2021.  Deputy chairs are expected to take the role of Chair after 2 years. The positions attract no remuneration.

This call for expressions of interest and nominations is open to all ISN members in good standing.

You can apply for the following positions:

  • ISN Research Working Group Deputy Chair: The ISN Research Working Group develops the strategic plan for ISN Research, ensures appropriate links are made between the activities of ISN and supports fundraising and strategic partnerships.
  • ISN-ACT (clinical trials) Deputy Chair: The ISN-Advancing Clinical Trials Committee sets out to generate a higher number of high-quality clinical trials and studies in nephrology, by connecting researchers and giving them tools and activities to support their projects.
  • iNET-CKD (cohort studies) Deputy Chair: To increase the understanding of chronic kidney disease, The ISN International Network of Chronic Kidney Disease cohort studies sets out to build up the number of existing, independently-funded chronic kidney disease cohort studies. The applicant must be coordinator (or investigator) of a cohort meeting the iNET-CKD Membership Eligibility criteria. Previous experience and knowledge of ISN iNET-CKD’s work will be an advantage.
