ISN-KDIGO Webinar: Sustainable Dialysis: Challenges, Solutions, and Future Directions
- 1 PM CEST
This webinar will build upon discussions from the KDIGO Controversies Conference on Green Dialysis: Environmentally Sustainable Care, Growth, and Innovation. Maintenance dialysis therapies—including hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration, and peritoneal dialysis (PD)—are among the most resource-intensive medical interventions due to their high water and energy consumption, heavy reliance on single-use plastic consumables, and frequent shipping logistics. This webinar will address these challenges, discuss potential solutions, and explore long-term technological innovations to mitigate the ecological footprint of maintenance dialysis.
Learning objectives:
- Review existing environmentally friendly clinical and operational processes of dialysis
- Discuss the importance of optimizing and developing green dialysis innovations
- Explore future directions in sustainable dialysis
