I am a nephrologist from Hargeisa, Somaliland, having completed my medical degree and Internal Medicine residency in China, followed by specialized nephrology training through an ISN Fellowship at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Coming from a region with limited nephrology services has deepened my commitment to expanding kidney care access and strengthening health-system capacity. Through this ISN-ELP program, I aim to further develop my leadership abilities and effectively integrate AI-based approaches to apply tools that support early diagnosis, patient management, and equitable clinical decision-making. I hope to apply these skills to advance innovative, sustainable kidney care in low-resource settings and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of nephrology within my community, across Africa, and globally.
