Introducing the First ISN Ravi Mehta AKI Fellow – Nurul Zaynah Nordin

The ISN is pleased to announce the first ISN Ravi Mehta AKI Fellowship recipient,
Nurul Zaynah Nordin.

Nurul Nordin will travel from her Home Center of Kuala Lumpur Hospital in Malaysia to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in the UK. There, she will spend 12 months training in critical care nephrology under the supervision of Marlies Ostermann before returning home to use and share her skills in her home country.

Dr. Nordin’s training is supported by the Ravi Mehta AKI Fellowship Fund, which helps fund one Fellow per year in the field of Acute Kidney Injury.

In collaboration with colleagues and friends, this fund was set up in honor of Ravi Mehta. The fund recognizes Ravi Mehta’s professional and personal dedication to reducing the burden of kidney disease worldwide through research, training, education, collaboration, and global advocacy.

The fund will sponsor one ISN Fellow per year from a low-resource country to train in acute kidney injury, enabling successful Fellows to be in a position to improve the standard of care in their home country after a period of training at an ISN-approved institution of their choice.
