Kidney Biopsies Among Persons Living in Hotspots of Ckdu: A Position Statement From the International Society of Nephrology’s Consortium of Collaborators on Ckdu

Chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology (CKDu) remains a significant problem in several regions around the world. The ISN conducted meetings and surveys to assess the need for kidney biopsies in CKDu hotspots. This position statement prepared by the ISN i3C Working Group provides guidance on clinical indications for kidney biopsies in individuals suspected of having CKDu.

The Role of Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter 2 Inhibitors in the Treatment Paradigm of Chronic Kidney Disease in Africa: An African Association of Nephrology Panel Position Paper

This position paper highlights concerns regarding the increasing prevalence of CKD in Africa, driven by the triple burdens of rising noncommunicable diseases, infections, and social determinants of health.

The paper also summarizes the current evidence on the role of SGLT2is and its applicability in ethnically and socioeconomically diverse populations with CKD.
