Participate in the global survey on the treatment of AKI

Until June 16, 2014 you can get involved in the global survey on the treatment of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). 0 by 25 is an ISN initiative that aims to eliminate preventable deaths from AKI worldwide by 2025. Click on one of the links below to start filling the survey.

The initiative calls for globally applicable strategies that permit a timely diagnosis of AKI and provide access to renal replacement therapy for patients with potentially reversible diseases. The emphasis is on resource emerging countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America with disadvantaged populations and poor access to care.

A key focus of 0 by 25 is the collection of existing and prospective data in order to demonstrate the burden of AKI, to raise awareness in the worldwide community and to develop a sustainable infrastructure to improve education, training and care delivery.

Global survey

As a first step, we have developed a global survey to gain a better understanding of the way AKI is treated in your country. This survey will also serve to identify appropriate settings to conduct further AKI research across the world, contributing to the following 0 by 25 projects:

  • Global snapshot: a cross-sectional study with enrollment and follow up of AKI patients seen around the world. The web-based prospective data collection will be conducted over a period of 7 days during August 2014.
  • AKI cohort study: a prospective cohort study of AKI patients followed over a period of at least three months. This will be conducted at selected centers across the world and will provide an updated database on the incidence, management and treatment of AKI globally.

We invite you to participate in this global survey by clicking on the relevant link below, according to your language preference. The survey should take about 10-12 minutes of your time to complete and we ask for your response before Monday June 16,  2014.

If you wish to participate in the upcoming Global Snapshot and the development of the AKI Cohort Study, please click “Yes” to survey Question 33.
