SharE-RR Workshop Program Converted to Successful Webinar Series

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the SharE-RR (SHARing Expertise to support the set-up of Renal Registries) workshop, scheduled to take place at the World Congress of Nephrology 2020, was unable to go ahead as planned.

The program, developed by the SharE-RR advisory group to share knowledge and experience in establishing renal registries, was re-worked from a 6-hour, in-person workshop to three 2-hour webinars presented over three weeks in September and October 2020.

Three countries presented the history and current status of registries in their home countries: Bolivia, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria; registry experts from Uruguay, France, South Africa, and Iran gave talks on governance, survival analysis, and local experiences; and Sophie Dupuis, ISN Grants and Education Director, outlined the ways ISN supports capacity-building.

Breakout rooms allowed group discussions between delegates and representatives from established registries favoring communication and inclusion and laying the groundwork for future opportunities to set-up renal registries to support ISN’s advocacy efforts.
