KI publishes paper on ESKD and Universal Health Coverage

Kidney International (KI) has published a paper, as a Supplement to its journal, focusing on increasing patient access to integrated end-stage kidney disease care (ESKD) and how this fits in with Universal Health Coverage .

Authored by David Harris et al., the paper is entitled ‘Increasing access to integrated ESKD care as part of Universal Health Coverage.’ It is now available online in full as a Supplement to KI, VOLUME 95 | ISSUE 4S | APRIL 2019. Read more .

The manuscript is a product of ISN’s second Global Kidney Health Summit, which focused on improving worldwide access to integrated ESKD care. During the Summit, concrete strategies were designed to fill gaps in knowledge and practice, and a high-level performance framework was created to evaluate progress over time.

‘We recognize the importance of improving global access to safe and sustainable integrated ESKD care. Engaging all relevant individuals and groups to implement and track progress will lead to improved care and outcomes for patients with ESKD globally,’ says David Harris.

KI is peer-reviewed and publishes original research in both basic science and clinical medicine. These include the latest clinical studies on emerging developments in renal medicine and the highest level of original research studies in therapy and epidemiology of acute and chronic kidney failure, as well as their translational aspects and genetic basis.
