ISN-supported speaker Dr. McCafferty (far right) at the Pakistan Society of Nephrology Biennial Conference 2024 

The ISN Continuing Medical Education Program supported a speaker to attend the Pakistan Society of Nephrology Biennial Conference 2024 in February 2024. 

Dr. Kieran McCafferty (UK) presented on chronic kidney disease and visited the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, the largest kidney care institution in Pakistan’s public sector.  

The Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Association of Nephrology (NANCONF) also took place in February in Abeokuta, Nigeria. 

The ISN supported speakers Professor Hany Hafez (Egypt), Dr. Henrietta Okafor (Nigeria) and Dr. Valerie Luyckx (Switzerland) to present at the meeting. 

The ISN Pioneer Award ceremony at NANCONF 2024 

The meeting provided a fitting occasion to present the ISN 2023 Pioneer Award for the ISN Africa region to Professor Emeritus Adewale Akinsola from Nigeria. Professor Akinsola received the award for his commitment and services to nephrology practice, mentorship, training and research in the African sub-region and internationally.
