Perspectives of transplant professionals on gender differences in living kidney donation

Women continue to make up the majority of living kidney donors worldwide. Interviews with 39 transplant professionals from 15 countries revealed that caregiving roles, limited autonomy, and financial or healthcare barriers contribute to this imbalance, while medical and socioeconomic factors deter male donors.
