Exploring Preconceptions as Barriers to Peritoneal Dialysis Eligibility: A Global Scenario-based Survey of Kidney Care Physicians

An online global survey sought to ascertain perceptions and decision-making on using peritoneal dialysis (PD).

The authors found that PD was more likely to be administered among clinicians from HICs, larger units, and consultants with more clinical experience.

Evidence-informed education is needed to correct misconceptions and encourage greater PD uptake.
