In memory of David Pugsley

The ISN honors the memory of David Pugsley, who passed away in March 2025. Dr. Pugsley was a practicing nephrologist in Adelaide, Australia. As a longstanding ISN member, he founded and chaired the ISN Committee of Renal Disease in Indigenous and Minority Populations in 1997, which later became the Committee on Kidney Health in Disadvantaged Populations. Dr. Pugsley was instrumental in bringing attention to the disproportionate burden of kidney disease in underserved communities. He organized numerous satellite meetings at the World Congress of Nephrology, facilitating discussions and research dissemination on global kidney health disparities. His editorial contributions to ISN Journals provided a platform for many kidney care professionals from developing countries to publish their research, amplifying voices that might otherwise have gone unheard.
