First ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Centers announcediclaron
ISN and The Transplantation Society (TTS) are delighted to announce the results of the call for applications of the new ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Center Program.
Three established renal centers will be working with three renal centers in the emerging economies of the world to develop, support and enhance kidney transplantation in those centers.
We would like to congratulate the first centers to join this program:
- FUNDANIER/Hospital Roosevelt (Guatemala) and UCLA Division of Nephrology (USA)
- Al Shifa Hospital (Palestine) and Royal Liverpool University Hospital (UK)
- University of Medicine Skopje (Macedonia) and Antwerp University Hospital (Belgium)
After the success of the ISN Global Outreach Sister Renal Center Program, this initiative is a collaboration between ISN and TTS to build on that strategy and encourage transplant centers to work together to increase opportunities for kidney transplant patients in developing countries.
An experienced transplant center in the developed world lends its support to an emerging transplant center to facilitate vital multidisciplinary training and encourage both centers to exchange their knowledge and expertise.
This program represents another way in which ISN and TTS have partnered to achieve more than each society can achieve alone. The ISN-TTS Sister Transplant Center Program will grow as we add new centers in the coming years. The next application deadline is September 15, 2013.
