SAMA Renal Review & Update Course, 2016

The SAMA Renal Review and Update course took place recently. Every year, this ISN endorsed meeting sets out to enhance renal education and training in Sudan.

The course is organized by the Sudanese American Medical Association (SAMA) in partnership with the Sudanese Nephrology Society and the Sudan Medical Specialization Board.

SAMA is a non-profit professional organization of Sudanese American physicians. Each course covers aspects of basic renal physiology, electrolytes and acid base disorders, glomerular disorders and acute and chronic kidney disease. It brings together US and international adult and pediatric nephrology experts.

Aimed at practicing nephrologists, nephrology fellows, medical registrars and internists, the objective is to give more explanation about the differential diagnosis of complex clinical presentations of patient with renal disorders. Participants set out to identify current therapeutic options for renal disorders as well as review and interpret up-to-date literature relevant to clinical practice. They also describe pathophysiological mechanisms that apply to manage the disorders.
