Call for applications: ISN-ANIO India CKD research projects

In collaboration with the Indian Society of Nephrology, the ISN-ANIO India Committee is calling for clinical research project applications from young nephrologists (both junior faculty and physicians in specialist training) working in India. The projects should be focused on chronic kidney disease (CKD).

In this year’s application round, the committee welcomes proposals for clinical research projects on two aspects of CKD including diabetic kidney disease (DKD) and chronic kidney disease of unknown etiology (CKDu).

Successful projects should be pragmatic, innovative, transformative and relevant to the Indian context. The proposed project should last between one and three years and potentially have an early significant impact on managing DKD or CKDu in India.

This call is co-funded by the ISN-ANIO India Committee and the Indian Society of Nephrology. The maximum funds available for each project is $50,000 (regardless of the proposed duration). It is anticipated that a maximum of two projects will be funded through this call. It is expected that successful projects will attract matching grants from India to complete the project.

The applications received will be assessed by a grants committee comprised of eminent nephrologists and diabetologists from India and members of the ISN-ANIO India Committee.

Members of this grants committee will mentor the successful candidates to carry out their research.

Deadline for applications is October 1st, 2016.

Each application must include a five page (A4) project proposal with the following headings:

  • Abstract (max 250 words)
  • Specific aims and significance (max 500
    words)
  • Background (max 500 words)
