ISN at UN General Assembly to highlight the cause of kidney patients

This week, ISN is set to represent the kidney health community at this year’s United Nations’ (UN) General Assembly in New York. Coinciding with the third High-Level Meeting on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), this assembly’s program is a busy affair for ISN.

ISN Advocacy Director Luisa  Strani says: ‘We are steadfast in highlighting the current burden and need for action on kidney disease to the international community.’ Notably, ISN will make a statement in front of the UN’s economic and social council on the matter on September 27, 2018.

Moreover, it will join forces with the wider NCD community to bring visibility to the lives of people living with kidney disease.

An important event to note is the launch of the Global Coalition for Circulatory Health’s new white paper for circulatory health, entitled ‘Driving Sustainable Action for Circulatory Health’, with a key note speech by Vytenis Andriukaitis, the European Union’s Commissioner for Health and Food Safety.

The event, entitled Driving Action for Circulatory Health at the third UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs, will take place on September 25, 2018 between 17:20-17:40 at the Harvard Club of New York City.
