Celebrating the Winners of the ISN Fellowship (Abstract) Awards 2021

The ISN Fellowship (Abstract) Award winners for 2021 were recognized in the Awards Gallery at WCN’21 for their achievements in nephrology. Congratulations to Abduzhappar Gaipov, Farah Gul Khan, and Privilage Makanda-Charambira for their outstanding achievements.

The ISN Fellowship Committee selected these winners based on the abstract accepted at WCN’21 and the Fellows’ role in the research project.

The ISN Fellowship Award is open to ISN Fellows currently in training or who finished their training within the last five years and whose abstract was accepted at WCN’21.

These awards were sponsored by the Japanese Society of Nephrology (JSN). The ISN thanks JSN for its support in recognizing these Fellows for their achievements in nephrology research.

First prize: Abduzhappar Gaipov (Kazakhstan) – “Epidemiology of Kidney Transplants in Kazakhstan: Data from Unified National Electronic Health System 2014-2018.”

Second prize: Farah Gul Khan (Pakistan) – “Etiology, Outcome, and Factors Associated with Increased In-patient Mortality in Acute Kidney Injury; a Prospective Cohort Study.”

Third prize: Privilage Makanda-Charambira (Zimbabwe) – “Tuberculosis in Paediatric Kidney Transplant Recipients – a Single Centre Experience.”
