In recognition of the valuable contribution made by early-career researchers worldwide, Kidney International (KI) and the ISN will select four of the best original research papers published in KI in 2021 to receive a KI-ISN Early-Career Researcher Award.

Discover the 2019/2020 winners and their research papers here.

The winners of these awards (two basic and two clinical science publications) will receive 500 USD each and be invited to present their papers at the 2022 World Congress of Nephrology.

Submit your application here before November 30, 2021.

Applicants for this award must be the first author of an original article published in KI in 2021, an ISN member, and an early career researcher less than seven years post Ph.D.

Award candidates should submit:

  • A 500-word expression of interest
  • A statement outlining the key findings of their research
  • A letter of recommendation from their research mentor

Papers will be assessed on the novelty of research, robustness, methodologies, quality and readability, clinical application, and effective research translational capacity by the Kidney International editorial team.

The selection process will reflect the diversity and inclusiveness of the global nephrology community. We look forward to receiving your applications.
