Prof. Ahmed Akl, Egypt, mentor, and Dr. Ben Lomatayo, mentee, Kenya, meet for the first time online. Their mentorship will focus on clinical research.

Since the ISN Mentorship Program’s relaunch in July 2021, 30 mentors and mentees have been selected and matched according to skill sets and training requirements. The ISN congratulates and welcomes all successful applicants.

Mentor and mentee collaborations will last between six months and three years to work on diverse areas of interest, including clinical research, scientific writing, kidney transplantation, and glomerular disease.

The matched pairs have now enjoyed introductory meetings to define a personalized program and schedule – we look forward to the progress and success of these collaborations.

The ISN thanks the Mentorship Program Advisory Group for its leadership in relaunching this essential program and all newly appointed mentors for their commitment to fostering professional advancement in kidney health professionals.

The upcoming round of applications for mentees will open in February 2022, with a deadline of March 1; mentors can apply year-round. Find out more here.
