A Nephrology-Cardiology Initiative: Optimization of RAASi Therapy Toolkit*

Roberto Pecoits-Filho, ISN Research Working Group member, and Amina Rakisheva, representing the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology (HFA-ESC), discuss the first toolkit of a collaborative project launched a year ago between the ISN, the HFA, KDIGO, the American Society of Preventative Cardiology and the Renal Physicians Association.

The project aims to develop tools to support nephrologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the multidisciplinary care of patients with heart and kidney complications.

CKD and Primary Healthcare Workers: Strategies to Narrow Down Gaps and Increase Diagnosis

Members of the first ISN Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) cohort Sabine Karam, Vivek Kumar, and Viviane Calice-Silva, present data on the chronic kidney disease (CKD) burden, the state of the nephrology workforce, CKD awareness among patients and the role of primary healthcare workers. Similarities and disparities between CKD care in the US, Nepal, Brazil, and Uganda are also discussed.

From July 3, the complete recordings of the WCN’23 program will be accessible on the ISN Academy, including content from more than 220 speakers from 43 countries and pre-congress course material.
