Kidney International® publishes new CKD remission paradigm, presented simultaneously at Kidney Week 2025

Kidney International® (KI) published “From progression to remission: a new paradigm for success in chronic kidney disease,” by Nav Tangri, David Cherney, Katherine Tuttle, and Vlado Perkovic. The article was released at the same time as its presentation at ASN Kidney Week, increasing the study’s visibility and reinforcing its significance to the global kidney community.

The research emphasizes a shift in CKD care: Moving beyond slowing disease progression toward achieving remission in a substantial proportion of patients. Early detection, risk stratification, and combination therapies — including SGLT2 inhibitors, nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, and targeted immunotherapies for glomerular diseases — have made sustained kidney function preservation and normalization of albuminuria realistic goals.

The coordinated release provided the global kidney care community with immediate access to the full study, reflecting the ISN and KI’s ongoing commitment to advancing evidence-based kidney care to improve patient outcomes worldwide.
