ISN Journal summaries on the KDIGO Guideline on IgAN and IgAV, and urinary dickkopf-3 to predict GFR loss
Kidney International®
IgA nephropathy and IgA vasculitis are leading causes of kidney disease worldwide, but treatment approaches have long varied.
The KDIGO 2025 guideline consolidates the latest evidence to provide updated recommendations on diagnosis, risk assessment, and therapies, aiming to standardize care, improve outcomes, and support clinicians in managing patients with IgAN and IgAV.

Urinary dickkopf-3 predicts GFR loss in the general population
This study followed more than 1,300 middle-aged adults to test whether urinary dickkopf-3 (uDKK3) can predict kidney function decline.
The results showed that higher uDKK3 levels were strongly linked to faster loss of kidney function, suggesting it could serve as an early biomarker of risk.
