40 Years of Transforming Global Kidney Care: The ISN Fellowship Program

The ISN Fellowship Program celebrates four decades of impact, having trained over 800 Fellows from more than 100 low-resource countries since its inception in 1985.

These fellows returned home as leaders, expanding kidney care capacity by establishing transplant programs, launching interventional nephrology courses, advancing research projects, and developing other initiatives to ensure future generations of local kidney care specialists.

To honor this monumental achievement in the ISN’s mission to advance global kidney care, a dedicated webpage shares 40 personal testimonials of fellows and mentors.

Each story reflects a journey of growth, dedication, and impact. Fellows share their deep pride in their achievements—both during and beyond their training—alongside a strong commitment to giving back. Throughout their experiences, a common thread of gratitude emerges—for ISN’s support, the mentors who guided them, the institutions that supported them, and the opportunities that shaped their careers. Explore these inspiring journeys and see how the ISN Fellowship Program continues to transform kidney care worldwide.
