New ISN Academy course: “Rare Kidney Diseases – MGRS and Amyloidosis”
The ISN Academy presents a comprehensive new course on monoclonal gammopathy of renal significance (MGRS) and amyloidosis, designed to equip healthcare professionals with critical knowledge on these rare but impactful conditions.
It features case-based, 20-minute recorded talks on key topics, including:
- The pathogenesis, diagnosis, and classification of MGRS subtypes—such as MIDD, PGNMID, C3G, and LCPT—and
- The clinical and pathological distinctions of amyloidosis forms, including AL, AA, and TTR amyloidosis.
Students will complete multiple-choice quizzes at the end of each module and earn CME credits upon finishing the course.
Led by experts Sabine Karam, Nelson Leung, and Frank Bridoux, the course outlines the intricate relationships between monoclonal proteins and kidney injury and the clinical and pathological manifestations of amyloidosis subtypes. It will culminate in a live “Meet the Experts” webinar later this year, allowing direct interaction with these leading specialists.
The course was released to coincide with Rare Disease Day, which took place on February 28.
