From the USA to Oceania and Southeast Asia and Latin America, ISN leaders are spotlighting global kidney health throughout July and August. Whether sharing the latest research, building partnerships, or amplifying regional voices, these engagements help elevate the global conversation on equitable kidney care.

The Columbia Renal Biopsy Course 2025 

July 16-18, 2025 New York, New York, USA & virtual 

Designed to support nephrologists and renal pathologists in diagnosing and managing common renal diseases, the course welcomes 10 ISN Renal Bursary recipients participating virtually from Colombia, Egypt, India, Malaysia, Mauritania, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Syria, and Zambia. 

Nephrology Society of Thailand Annual Scientific Meeting 

August 1-3, 2025 Pattaya, Thailand 

One of the meeting’s highlights will be the presentation of the ISN 2025 Pioneer Award for the OSEA region to Kriang Tungsanga (Thailand). The award will be presented by ISN Immediate Past-President Masaomi Nangaku during the opening ceremony on August 2, from 8:15 to 8:30 a.m. local time (convert to your time zone here). 

Talergnsak Kanjanabuch, ISN OSEA Regional Board chair, will highlight Dr. Tungsanga’s outstanding contributions to kidney stone disease, early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease, and integrated community care. 

August 2, from 10-10:30 a.m.  

Masaomi Nangaku will deliver the lecture, “Update policy management in CKD/KRT – international perspective of KRT.”

ISN-SLANH plenary session with Valerie Luyckx (Switzerland)  

“Kidney disease in a changing world. Why the Sustainable Development Goals are important for kidney health”

ISN 2025 Pioneer Award for Latin America 

The ISN 2025 Pioneer Award for Latin America will be presented to Ana María Cusumano (Argentina). ISN President Marcello Tonelli will share a recorded introduction, followed by ISN Latin America Regional Board Chair Alejandro Ferreiro Fuentes, who will present the award and highlight Dr.Cusumano’s accomplishments, including her significant involvement in the Latin American Dialysis and Transplantation Registry.

ISN-SLANH symposium
