Countdown to World Kidney Day 2026: Year-long campaign starts now!
The annual World Kidney Day (WKD) campaign for 2026 officially launched today, September 15. This year-long campaign will culminate in a global day of activities on Thursday March 12, 2026.
The 2026 campaign carries the powerful message, “Kidney health for all: Caring for people, protecting the planet,” highlighting the vital link between kidney care and environmental sustainability, with far-reaching consequences for public health and populations worldwide.
It calls for action — from reducing the environmental impact of dialysis to addressing the risks climate change poses to kidney health — while keeping care for people living with kidney diseases at its core.
