In memory of Claudio Ponticelli
The ISN honors the memory of Claudio Ponticelli, who passed away in January 2026. He was a distinguished nephrologist based in Milan, Italy. A longstanding ISN member, Dr. Ponticelli served as a member of the ISN Council and the ISN Nominating Committee. His scientific work focused on kidney transplantation, immunosuppressive therapies, glomerular diseases, and dialysis, and he played a pivotal role in advancing the understanding and treatment of membranous glomerulonephritis. He authored more than 640 scientific publications (including contributions to ISN Journals) and served on the editorial boards of leading nephrology journals, helping shape global nephrology research and education.
