Become a Fellow of the ISN: Recognition for long-term dedication  

 The Fellow of the ISN (FISN) status recognizes sustained dedication to the global kidney community and the ISN’s mission. It highlights a strong commitment to advancing kidney care, mentoring the next generation of nephrologists, and making a lasting impact on global kidney health

 

Awardees come from every corner of the globe — in 2025, 28% were from Western Europe, 19% from Africa, and 18% from Oceania and South East Asia — reflecting the truly international value of this recognition. Becoming a FISN means joining a network of professionals who are shaping the future of kidney care.

Who is eligible? 

Candidates must meet these criteria: 

  • Experience: At least five years in kidney care 
  • Membership: Active ISN member for at least five of the last seven years 
  • Impact: Notable achievements in at least two of the following areas: 
  • Research – advancing nephrology knowledge 
  • Service – excellence in patient care and community support 
  • Teaching – mentoring and educating future nephrologists 
  • Leadership & innovation – driving initiatives that make a difference
