Growing together: The ISN welcomes a new Collective-member society
TSN President Mai-Szu Wu and ISN President Marcello Tonelli sign a memorandum of understanding for TSN to become an ISN Collective-member society
The ISN is pleased to welcome the Taiwan Society of Nephrology (TSN) as its newest Collective-member society, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing kidney care in the North and East Asia region.
This partnership builds on a series of joint initiatives that have strengthened scientific exchange between the TSN and the ISN. In 2024, the ISN participated in joint sessions at the TSN Spring Academic Conference. TSN leadership commented:
“The comprehensive lectures have tremendously enriched the scientific content of the TSN Spring Conference. The exchanges of ideas were magnificent and inspiring for all participants.”

Collaboration continued in December 2024 with an ISN Scientific Writing Course in Taiwan, co-hosted and co-supported by the TSN. The course equipped participants from across the region with practical tools to strengthen research design, manuscript preparation, and scientific communication.

Following the course, ISN faculty and TSN members came together again for the TSN–ISN Joint Symposium, “Advancing Research in Nephrology: A Global Perspective,” exploring topics including multi-omics, epigenetics in precision medicine, and common pitfalls in meta-analysis.
More recently, the ISN fully participated in the 23rd Asian Pacific Congress of Nephrology in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of Taiwan Society of Nephrology in Taipei, Taiwan, which included joint ISN-TSN sessions and the latest edition of the ISN Primer Course in Glomerular Diseases.
By joining the ISN as a Collective-member society, the TSN formalizes a partnership rooted in ongoing collaboration and shared expertise. With 36 Collective-member societies worldwide, these partnerships continue to connect regional excellence with global knowledge exchange.
